Dr Anastasios Sykoutris, MD, MSc is a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and IVF Specialist based in Athens, Greece, with over two decades of experience in assisted reproduction, egg donation and advanced hysteroscopy. He is the Clinical Director of OVUM Fertility Matters (IVF Consultants Group) and, since April 2023, collaborates clinically with the Institute of Life (IASO Maternity Hospital, Athens).
He has held senior consultant roles in major maternity and fertility hospitals in Greece, including REA Maternity Hospital and MITERA Maternity Hospital (2005–2023), where he performed IVF and egg donation procedures, and at Serum IVF Unit (2008–2010), with responsibilities spanning IVF treatments and operative hysteroscopy. His postgraduate training in the United Kingdom included registrar-level clinical and research experience at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London (Assisted Conception Unit), where he managed subfertility and endocrine clinics and performed ultrasound-guided IUIs, oocyte retrievals (TV ultrasound-guided) and embryo transfers (TA ultrasound-guided). Earlier NHS appointments included Pilgrim Hospital (Boston), Hull Royal Infirmary, and Doncaster Royal Infirmary / Luton & Dunstable Hospitals, providing broad obstetrics and gynaecology experience.
Dr Sykoutris holds an MSc in Human Reproduction from the University of Bristol (UK) and completed his medical degree at the University of L’Aquila (Italy). He has contributed to scientific meetings and publications, including work on reproductive outcomes and BMI, and has a long-standing academic background with research activity in human anatomy and microscopy during his early career.
He is a member of key professional bodies including the General Medical Council (GMC, UK), the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), the British Fertility Society (BFS), the Athens Medical Association, and the Medical Association of Cyprus. In recognition of his philanthropic and scientific contribution, particularly in supporting patients and promoting fertility-related medical tourism in Greece, he was awarded the Cross of Commander of the Sovereign Military and Hospitaller Order of Malta (2016).
